My unique children
I was asked by my friend Marit's blog to list 6 quirky things about myself. However, when I started thinking about that, I realized that my kids are actually much more quirky than I am. Here are some of their unique aspects.
1. The only veggies Torsten will eat are corn, peas, broccoli, and potatoes. The only fruit he will eat is apple slices, and they have to be peeled.
2. Torsten's favorite place to sleep is in bed with his parents. He will often wake up in the middle of the night and make his way into our room. We have now put a mattress on the floor in our room that he can lay on, so he can be near us without disrupting our sleep too much.
3. Torrie loves anything with a soft and fluffy texture. She's thrilled if I give her a cotton ball or a Q-tip to play with. She'll rub it on her face and just smile. She loves soft blankets and clothes with a soft texture. Her very favorite toys are her stuffed animals.
4. At age two, Torrie is still a big thumb sucker. We're hoping she'll eventually outgrow it, but all attempts to disuade her haven't worked thus far.
5. Baby Kammie is my first child who will not drink from a bottle. She simply refuses it. Fortunately I work very close by and can come home to nurse her during the day when I work.
6. Baby Kammie will not suck a pacifier or her thumb, but she loves to suck on her favorite blanket. If that's not available, her sleeve, bib, dress, or any other fabric will also do.
