Differences in girls and boys
Torrie was helping me cut up some potatoes into french fries this week. She found a tall one and said, "Here is a daddy french fry." She then found a mommy french fry and some small ones that she labeled as the kids. I always find it fascinating to observe how different she is from Torsten in the way she plays and interprets the world. She sees everything in terms of relationships and families. She is also very nurturing and very in touch with the feelings of herself and others. She will often pretend that her toys are either sad or happy depending on what they're doing.
If Torsten were to make up a game with french fries, he would probably pretend they were missiles launching out of an airplane. He is a much more concrete thinker and definitely doesn't focus on feelings or relationships when he plays. Most of his pretend games revolve around things that either go very fast, explode, crash, or get destroyed. Such is the difference in girls and boys.

Yes, that is so true...
just the mere mention of the words "launch, crash, and explode" instantly reminds me of my boys!
