Our Trip to the Coast

The kids enjoyed our flight there

We went swimming every day

Thor and Torsten with our chef, who cooked dinner for us each night

The kids both loved the ocean and the sand

Torrie had to wear a life jacket for our snorkeling boat trip

We just returned from spending a week at the Kenyan coast. We stayed at Pinewood Village, which is south of Mombasa at Gala beach. It was somewhat remote, but peaceful and quiet. We had a nice relaxing time there. Both of the kids loved the ocean and the sand this time, which is a change from before. Torsten was quite scared of the waves at our last beach trip. The kids also enjoyed swimming in the pool. We took a nice boat trip out to a coral reef and sandbar, where we were able to do snorkeling. We saw lots of beautiful tropical fish. The weather was very hot, and the ocean water was very warm as well. Other than the boat trip, we just hung out at the beach and the pool. It was a nice change of pace from our busyness at home. I enjoyed not having to cook. We had a chef come to our villa to cook dinner for us each night, and we ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant. Fortunately all went very smoothly with this trip, and we got back home with no problems. We were glad for this considering the eventfulness of our last trip home from South Africa.
