Torrie's Milestones
Torrie is now cruising!Baby Torrie has had an eventful week. She began crawling on Sunday (on her hands and knees) and she's now getting into everything. We're finding her in all kinds of unusual places in the house. She's gotten into more trouble in the last 5 days than she has her whole life previously. One of her favorite tricks is to unplug the DVD player while her brother is watching it, which of course doesn't go over very well with him. She also started pulling herself up to a standing position on Wednesday. I sat her on the living room rug and went upstairs for a minute, and when I came back down, she was standing up next to the sofa. She's done it several times since as well. Yesterday she waved bye-bye to Fridah when she was leaving and said "ba ba". She really seemed to know what she was saying. That's the first time I've seen her really wave to someone. So, our little girl is finally starting to grow up.
Now that we have been in Kenya for 3 months, we are able to rent school vehicles. So, we decided to drive into Nairobi ourselves last Saturday to do some shopping. We had a nice, uneventful trip, which was good after our last experience. We went to the Toi Market in Nairobi, which is a large outdoor used clothing market. I found some nice things at bargain prices for me and the kids, which was fun. We also did grocery shopping and ate lunch at the Java House, which is an American restaurant with really good food. We eat out so infrequently here that it's a nice treat when we get to. Thor did a good job driving on the crazy Kenyan roads. We were told by the repair shop that our car will be ready in 4-5 weeks.
