Yummy Solid Food!
Baby Kammie has just started eating solid foods! She has had oatmeal cereal, mashed bananas, and pears so far. She loves her baby food and has been a good eater thus far. I've had the hardest time getting a picture of her eating with her eyes open though. Every time the flash goes off, she blinks, and the picture comes out with her eyes closed.
I made this dress for Torrie recently. Since sewing is not exactly something I enjoy or do well, I was happy with my accomplishment. One of the annual traditions at the AIM ladies conference is a "swap shop", where each person brings items from home that they no longer want and swap them for something else. One of the items I saw there was the pattern for this cute little girl's dress. It looked easy enough, so I decided to take it and give it a try. I got some fabric and finally got brave enough to get started. It was not as easy as the directions made it sound, and I did end up having to re-do several seams, which is pretty normal for me, but the final product came out pretty good. I actually have enough fabric left to make a little matching dress for Kammie, so I'm thinking of trying to scale down the pattern and make her one too. We'll see.
Torrie is a very girly little girl. Some friends here gave us some of their daughter's used clothes for Torrie. One of the items was a cute little pair of blue jeans. However, when I try to get her to wear them, she says, "I don't want to wear blue pants, I want to wear a pretty dress. Blue pants are for Morsten (her name for Torsten)." She's very opinionated about her clothes, shoes, and hair bows.
Tomorrow we are heading off for Tanzania for a week. I don't think we'll have internet access there, so I won't be blogging for the next week or so.
