Our unique children

Our girly girl loves getting into Mommy's makeup!

It continues to amaze me to observe how different our two children are, both from personality and gender. Torrie definitely has a nurturing side that Torsten doesn't have. Torsten likes to give hugs and kisses to Thor and I, but to very few other people, and definitely not to his toys. Torrie's favorite toys are her doll babies. She carries them around feeding them bottles and giving them hugs and kisses. She also loves her stuffed animals and showers them with hugs and kisses too. Last night we had pizza for dinner. Torrie was eating hers when she picked up a piece of pizza and brought it to her chest and gave it several pats, and said "hug".

Torrie also amazes us at how easy she goes to bed at night and for naps. She can now easily get in and out of her big girl bed, but once we lay her in bed and say "good night", she lays right down and goes to sleep. Torsten never would have done that. He was still in a crib in that age and would always play and jump for a good while before going to sleep. He still has a harder time staying in bed and falling asleep at night. When Torrie wakes up in the morning, she gets up and plays in her room for a while. When she's ready to get out she knocks on her door and calls "Mommy".

We have learned that we will get to move into a bigger house sometime in August. The family that was there is leaving, so we are getting to take their place. I'm definitely looking forward to having more space. We'll need it too with the new baby coming.
