We took a nice trip this past weekend to Lake Naivasha with another missionary family here. We stayed for 3 nights at a beautiful house right on the lakefront, about an hour and a half drive from here. The house is a vacation home belonging to a family from England. When they're not using it, they rent it out to missionaries and other people. We brought our own food and did our own cooking, but the staff that work in the house were there to wash dishes and do all the cleaning up, which was really nice. The house was huge and had some unique features, like a bridge inside leading to our bedrooms and a large deck built around a tall tree. It is on the grounds of a dairy farm, and Torsten enjoyed getting to see cows being milked (all by hand).

We visited a game reserve called Crescent Island, where we saw lots of animals, including hippos, zebra, giraffe, and many gazelles. No driving is allowed on the island, but there are walking trails around it. It was different to be able to walk around and see all the animals, instead of just seeing them from a vehicle, like most game parks. We also visited the Crater Lake park, which is a volcano with a lake in the crater, with beautiful pink flamingos on it. We saw many animals around the park there also and had a picnic amongst some zebra. The kids enjoyed getting to swim in the pool at the Great Rift Valley Lodge, which was just several kilometers from where we stayed. Torsten also enjoyed getting to go horseback riding. He had a guide leading his horse, but he looked so tiny riding a big horse by himself.
